Question 04
Do you have a favorite handmade ornament or a Christmas crafting tradition or story in your own family?
When I was a little girl, we didn’t have much money, my mom was a single mom. So I started making ornaments from items around the house. Aluminum foil, paper, cups, etc. It’s so enjoyable because you could create something beautiful from everyday items.
I love to see the excitement on everyone’s face when they realize they made something beautiful.
Yes, this year I started crocheting and taught myself from TikTok and made a beautiful chaos Christmas blanket.
I have done wreath, making, flower, arranging, sewing, knitting crocheting. Also, I love taking old furniture and painting it and reupholstering to make something look brand new.
Besides making ornaments with my children when they were little, we make Christmas cookies together. I plan a party every year, which I call, no-cookie exchange party! What this means is, I make all the cookies, my friends and family come with an empty tin and fill up with all the cookies that I made. They pick their favorites and then I don’t have to make the tins for everyone. It’s usually about 20 people that come.
